The Element of Baking Book Review

The Element of Baking is written by Katarina Cermelj, a photographer, author, and award-winning food writer. It is a good book and an excellent resource for those who want to make their baking allergen-friendly and need a place to start. She has a degree in chemistry and incorporates that into her book in the way the recipes are written, the substitutions, and how the recipes work. She explains how each ingredient works together, what the result is, and why they work. The recipes from the book taste fantastic, especially the gluten-free and vegan recipes. I highly recommend that every person who bakes for people with allergies look into Katarina Cermelj and her work. She has other recipe books that are just as wonderful as well. She is a fantastic author, chef, and photographer who shines through this book.

She has also written another book, Baked to Perfection, and has her own blog, The Loopy Whisk. I highly recommend you check out her work, especially if you are into allergen-friendly baking, because many of her recipes are fantastic.
